Emmanuelle AUGERAUD VERON

Last update Thursday 07 February 2019
Emmanuelle AUGERAUD VERON

Researcher, GReThA, university of Bordeaux

Emmanuelle Augeraud-Véron has been a member of the GREThA Economics Research Laboratory since 2017. She received her PHd thesis and an habilitation degree in Economics and Mathematics. Her research activity consists in studying dynamics resulting from coupled modeling in economy and environment (pollution, epidemiology, population dynamics, demography). She is interested in the impact of economic decisions on environmental dynamics and how environmental dynamics impact individual choices. She is interested in taking into account environmental risks in individual decisions. In particular, she studies how temporal phenomena (effects of delays, seasonality) and spatial dimensions (fragmentation of the territory, non-local dynamics) impact individuals decisions.

Talk on Thursday 6th June

> Groundwater pollution

We will consider various modelling. We will focus on showing the differences between open-loop Nash equilibrium solutions, closed-loop Nash equilibria and socially optimal solutions, and on showing  which tools can be implemented in terms of regulation. Different contexts will be considered: Shallow lakes, groundwater, groundwater interacting with the environment. We will compare the optimal policies using models at different scales, in order to understand the relevance of the models used (time-dependent modeling, modeling integrating the delay between the emission of the pollutant and its capture, fine modeling of the transport of the pollutant).

Health concerns will be considered (in particular through the study of water pollution leading to bacterial resistance).
