Citizen science in supporting biodiversity monitoring programs managed by environmental protection organizations - Frédéric REVERS

Last update Wednesday 13 May 2015

Environmental protection non-governmental organizations (NGO) have developed for a long time biodiversity monitoring programs for a better knowledge of plant and animal species. However, without the participation of volunteer citizens, many of these programs would not have been performed. In this talk, I will present some examples of such programs for which NGO could use opportunistic data produced by volunteers in order to make good knowledge. I will also talk on the recent technological advances allow raising the powerful of data production and thus boosting citizen science.
